Czech Canada, Václavov Cottage

This will guarantee you an undisturbed stay in complete privacy.

Reconstruction

A few years ago a derelict cottage overgrown with shrubs was  hardly noticeable at the end of village Václavov.   However its location even under the shrubs suggested how romantic it might be.  And inside there were many hidden treasures. However, some of them were soon stolen by uninvited guests, others we managed to save and today they again serve their purpose. Out of courtesy, we didn't ask the cottage about its age, but it might be even 200 years old. We started to work and it was not easy at all.  The reconstruction was a never-ending process and it has not been completed yet. During repairs we tried to preserve the authenticity of the house and its equipment. We renovated the furniture found in the house.  The roof, facade and floors were repaired using the original materials.

In order to ensure comfortable accommodation we modernized the kitchen, toilet and bathrooms. The heat is produced by the high capacity boiler which is operated by the cottage manager.

Our building effort has been documented in this chronicle of reconstruction.
